Kicking off the UIL Season

Kicking off the UIL Season

January 17th, Pine Tree kicks off its first meet of the UIL season, hosting the Jar of Dirt competition. Students from across the nation migrate to our school in droves, aiming to compete against our UIL team, which has become a force to be reckoned with in 4A, taking home multiple titles in the region and state level. Dozens of local adult volunteers are aiding in the competition, working the concessions and proctoring tests to take some of the stress off our teachers and students. We hope that our students and teachers will find immense success in their pursuits at their first meet!

February 6th and 7th the UIL team will take to the road, going to Waco for an overnight trip. February 6th, they are going to Kalahari to take some stress off before an intense session of studying that evening. February 7th, they take to Waco to compete with numerous teams from across the State, providing a brief preview of what competition will be at the District and Region competitions.

Over the months following that, the UIL team will take to several schools across the area, getting involved in a meet at Hallsville, taking the UIL C test, then district, region, and state. We hope that numerous of our UIL teams will make it all the way, competing at the highest level at UT Austin in late May.
