Giant brown trees overhang the stage, casting a dark shadow over the background of the scenes. Alice — Claire Rutledge — under the questioning of the King of Hearts, causes chaos in the court, sending the jury, card soldiers, and evidence flying.
The theater’s production of Alice in Wonderland surpasses previous productions in terms of size, boasting a massive 60-plus person cast and crew. Through their increased size, they have been able to make an incredibly complex and multifaceted set, including decorations for the lobby and theater windows.
In-between public performances, they will be performing for the younger campuses, including Birch and Parkway on the 21st and the Middle School on the 27th. They hope to inspire their young audience to pursue theater in high school and beyond, securing a large and successful cast for years to come.
On October 23, 26, and 30th, the Pine Tree Theater will be hosting their community performances of Alice in Wonderland. The production will begin at 6:30pm, lasting approximately an hour and a half. Tickets will be free for all Pine Tree Students and $5 for anyone else, purchased at the door.
