Coach Kaitlyn Orren, brings an inspiring new set of eyes to the Pine Tree Volleyball program. She plans to rebuild the program and make it seen that the volleyball girls have more to them than you think.
The season has been moving smoothly and swiftly with a 7-3 standing in district and tied for 3rd place out of 8 very competitive 4A teams. Coach Orren plans to lead her team to playoffs since it hasn’t been done since 2019. With only 5 games left in the district season she holds her girls at the highest standard.
Coach Orren has played volleyball her whole life. She did community service coaching, such as the Little Spikers and coached private lessons. She grew a love for coaching and strived to help grow these young independent girls into strong confident players.
Orren says that Pine tree has become her favorite school she coached at through her career.
“It’s so welcoming and everyone here treats you like family” she said, “My girls have become the highlight of my day seeing them work hard to achieve their goals.”
Her expectations for her girls are held at high standards. She expects the best of them every day.
“As long as they are handling classroom business, and treating other people with respect then we shouldn’t have any issues,” she said. “I want them to do their best everyday and have a good mindset on and off the court.”
Coach Orren doesn’t just hold her girls at high standards, but also herself.
“I know that the girls depend on me just as much as I depend on them to do their very best,” she said. “I know that if I don’t show up and show out, neither will they.”
The Pine Tree volleyball program has one mindset that keeps them going and striving to become the best of themselves.
“We’re rebuilding the ship. The foundation was set years ago but it needs some fixing and modifications,” Coach Orren said. “We will start from the 7th graders to the seniors, and rebuild our legacy.”
